Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to all paid subscriptions, credit purchases, and top-up transactions on Self-Publish.ai. By purchasing a subscription or credits, you agree to the terms below. This policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service.
1. Our Commitment
We want you to feel confident before you pay. If Self-Publish.ai is not the right fit, we would rather refund you cleanly than have you stay unhappy. This policy exists to be fair to both sides: generous enough that you can try the platform properly, and clear enough that there are no surprises.
2. Monthly Subscription Refunds
If you are on a monthly plan (Basic $19/month, Pro $39/month, or Studio $79/month), you may request a full refund within 7 days of your payment date.
Conditions
- Less than 20% of your monthly credit pool has been consumed
- Daily refresh credits used during this period do not count toward the 20% threshold. They exist for daily use and their consumption does not affect refund eligibility
- The request is submitted within 7 calendar days of the charge date
If your usage exceeds 20% of the monthly pool, you have meaningfully used the service for that billing period and the refund will not apply. This threshold exists to prevent abuse while still giving genuine users a fair window to evaluate the platform.
3. Annual Subscription Refunds
If you are on an annual plan (Basic $180/year, Pro $372/year, or Studio $756/year), you may request a full refund within 30 days of your payment date.
Conditions
- Less than 20% of your monthly credit pool for the first month has been consumed
- Daily refresh credits used during this period do not count toward the 20% threshold
- The request is submitted within 30 calendar days of the charge date
After 30 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable regardless of usage. Annual plans are prepaid commitments. The 30-day window is intentionally generous to give you enough time to evaluate the platform properly before the commitment is final.
Partial refunds
We do not offer prorated partial refunds for annual plans cancelled mid-term after the 30-day window. Your access continues until the end of the paid annual period.
4. Founding Author Subscriptions
Founding Author annual subscriptions (the first 100 annual subscribers during the April 2026 founding window) are subject to the same 30-day refund window as all annual plans.
Important
If a Founding Author subscription is refunded, the lifetime rate lock is permanently forfeited. If you re-subscribe after a refund, you will be charged at the standard rate available at that time. The founding rate cannot be reinstated under any circumstances.
5. Top-Up Credit Purchases
Top-up credit bundles ($4.99, $9.99, $19.99, and the Pro/Studio bundle at $17.99) are non-refundable once purchased.
Top-up credits never expire and remain in your account until fully used, so there is no risk of losing what you paid for. Because of this, we are not able to issue refunds on top-up purchases.
Exception
If you purchased a top-up bundle and have not used any of those credits within 7 days of purchase, you may contact us and we will review the request on a case-by-case basis. This exception is not guaranteed and exists only for genuine purchase errors.
6. Free Plan
The Free plan costs nothing and no refund is applicable. If you upgrade from the Free plan to a paid plan, the paid plan's refund policy applies from the date of that upgrade.
7. Referral Credits and Bonus Credits
Referral credits (100 credits granted when you refer a new user) and signup bonus credits are non-refundable and have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for a monetary refund under any circumstances.
8. Duplicate Charges
If you believe you have been charged twice for the same subscription or purchase, contact us immediately at support@self-publish.ai. Verified duplicate charges will be refunded in full within 2 business days, regardless of the standard refund window.
9. Failed or Incorrect Charges
If your payment was processed in error (for example, a charge at the wrong tier or an unexpected renewal), contact us and we will investigate and resolve it within 2 business days. We correct our mistakes quickly.
10. How to Request a Refund
Email support@self-publish.ai with the following:
- Your account email address
- The charge date and amount
- The reason for your refund request
That is all we need. No forms, no phone calls, no hold music.
We respond to all refund requests within 2 business days. If your request is approved, the refund is processed immediately on our end.
11. Processing Time
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method. Processing times vary by provider:
- Credit and debit cards: 5 to 10 business days
- PayPal (if applicable): 3 to 5 business days
If your refund has not appeared after 10 business days, check with your bank before contacting us. Processing delays are almost always on the card network's side, not ours. If the issue persists, email us and we will provide a Stripe transaction reference to help your bank trace the refund.
12. Chargebacks
If you believe you were charged incorrectly, please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We resolve billing disputes quickly and directly.
Chargebacks initiated without contacting us first may result in:
- Immediate suspension of your account pending investigation
- Forfeiture of any remaining credits in your account
- Being banned from creating a new account
We are a small company and chargebacks carry significant fees and administrative burden. We would rather fix the problem directly, and we will.
13. Subscription Cancellation vs. Refund
Cancelling your subscription and requesting a refund are two different things.
Cancellation
Stops future charges. You retain access and credits until the end of your current paid period. No refund is issued.
Refund
Returns the money for your most recent charge and ends your access immediately. Applicable only within the refund windows above.
To cancel without a refund, go to Settings, then Billing, then Cancel Plan. No email required.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Refund requests are governed by the policy in effect at the time of the original purchase.
